Sarjaro were engaged by a confidential client to provide water treatment solutions for this project. The contract involved the design, construction, mobilisation, setup, commissioning, operation and maintenance of three (3) bespoke multi-barrier water treatment plants to manage contaminated groundwater, surface water and landfill leachate.
Following the acquisition of the 200-hectare Paper Mill Site in 2015 by the Moreton Bay Regional Council, Sarjaro were engaged by our client to design, manufacture, install, commission, operate and maintain multiple different capacities bespoke multi barrier water treatment plants to assist with remediation of soil, groundwater, surface water and other sediments. This phase required Two (2) up to 2.5 l/sec WTPs to treat pond water and One (1) up to 2.5 l/sec WTP to treat landfill leachate. The multi-barrier treatment process was tailored for efficient and safe removal of 60 pollutants including multiple Per and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS), metals and hydrocarbons. Adhering to strict regulatory limits and stringent discharge requirements of the Queensland Department of Environment and Science (DES), Sarjaro's WTP enabled direct discharge into the North Pine River and adjacent Moreton Bay Marine Park in accordance with Environmental Authority (EA) EPPR00500613.
Other responsibilities included provision of scientific technical services to support our client in meetings with QLD DES to design an industry best practice plant, demonstrate proof of performance and support discharge regulation with commercially realistic, practical and sustainable environmental outcomes.
